Dapper works out of the box. The default X driver is the open source "radeon", in which DRI (and 3d acceleration) don't seem to work. Using X occasionally causes a complete system freeze (see this bug: [https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+bug/46470 #46470]).

Maxtor SATA 60GB HD. Had to set SATA mode to 'enhanced' in the BIOS prior to installation. The Grub bootloader installation phase didn't succeed otherwise. Need to test power saving features more extensively. Everything else is working just fine.
