sudo apt-get install build-essential libcupsys2-dev ia32-libs -> download the driver from Avasys website -> unpack the archive into a directory -> cd into previous directory -> sudo ./configure; sudo make install -> sudo aa-complain cupsd -> install the printer via gnome system-config-printer tool (marco.pallotta@gmail.com)

Recognised & driver auto-installed on connection. When a test page is sent, status goes to "processing" and not much more happens. Installing PIPS from avansys makes printing work ok, but leaves a process using ~100% CPU after each job which needs manually killing..
