IconsPage/Icongnomeicu3.png This is the home page for the Florida Ubuntu Local Community (LoCo) Team. Started in February, 2007, the Florida Team has already grown to over 150 members. In accordance with the Ubuntu philosophy, this team is open and available to anybody. Our members range from DJs to System Administrators. If you'd like to contribute to Ubuntu and Linux, we encourage you to join the team. No previous knowledge or experience is necessary.

Goals

  • Expand the team
  • Work with local LUGs
  • Possibly work with FreeGeek.org (or start a chapter here) to distribute recycled computers with K/Ed/X/Ubuntu as their base OS.

  • Introduce Ubuntu to people at local conferences and business events
  • Write A 20-30 word Press Statement About Our LoCo (Feravolo)

  • Develop an approach to Promote Ubuntu to people with a non-technical background

What We Do

  1. Educate the Public About Ubuntu, Linux and Open Standards
  2. Introduce People to Ubuntu and the F/OSS community
  3. Supply CDs and CD Images (in the near future)
