Welcome!

This is the home page for the Florida Ubuntu Local Community Team. Started in February, 2007, the Florida Team has already grown to over 100 members. We are very excited with our emerging team and the ideas we are generating, and are looking forward to moving ahead with them and applying to become an approved LoCo Team in the future. In accordance with the Ubuntu philosophy, this team is, of course, open and available to anybody. If you wish to join, regardless of your knowledge and experience, please feel free to join us on our launchpad page below. And if you are not quite ready to join the team and are just looking for some help, come check out our IRC room!

Goals

• Expand the team
  • Contact local LUGs

• Possibly work with FreeGeek.org (or start a chapter here) to distribute recycled computers with K/Ed/X/Ubuntu as their base OS.

• Introduce Ubuntu to people at local conferences and business events

• Write A 20-30 word Press Statement About Our LoCo (Feravolo)

• Develop an approach to Promote Ubuntu to people with a non-technical background

What We Do

1. Educate the Public About Ubuntu, Linux and Open Standards
2. Introduce People to Ubuntu and the F/OSS community
3. Supply CDs and CD Images (in the near future)
