Introduction

  • This page is home to the Ubuntu Egyptian LoCo team page. This page helps to give insight and distribute information regarding all Ubuntu related issues locally. We are here to show how this distribution of linux is a key player in the IT market for both personal and professional use. Everyone involved in the LoCo has equal opportunity towards the development of GNU/Linux in Egypt. You are an ambassador to help and assist in the migration towards open source technologies. Our goal as a team is to market the abilities of Ubuntu as a powerful operating system and help people integrate the technology and/or migrating from other operating systems and technologies into this one as a more advanced and beneficial advantage. We conduct frequent training on how to use Linux, showcasing its ease of use. We also organize installation festivals whenever possible.

Mission Statement

  • Ubuntu Egypt LoCo Team is doing whatever it takes to advocate Open Source philosophy and spread Ubuntu on one hand and strives, as a team, to help technology awareness grow in Egypt. The Ubuntu-Egypt LoCo Team has a Short and Long term Goals, varies from developing the team in itself to accomplish the Team's Mission, includes Inviting more people to start using Ubuntu and/or developing into it, Organizing Events whenever a chance shows up, dealing with it as an opportunity to spread the cause, also, "Tunneling a lot of effort to the inner sphere to help current members grow in technical ability and size. Open-Source in Technology and Philosophy has a lot of advancements comparing with other technologies and philosophy, but unfortunately it faces a hard community adoption phases which slows down its spread, But How long can a problem last in front of a very enthusiastic, sophisticated, talented and a dedicated team of sincere members.
