The Ubuntu Bug Squad is the Quality Assurance (QA) team for Ubuntu.
The people in the team work tirelessly to make Ubuntu a better place. They keep track of all the bugs in the Ubuntu Distribution and make sure that major bugs don't go unnoticed by the developers.
Most of us live in #ubuntu-bugs.
How to make Ubuntu a better place
- Triage bugs
- Have healthy relationships to
- OUR USERS
- our upstream developers
- our Launchpad crew
- Improve the wiki to reflect best information for debugging
- spread more of the huggy, cheery atmosphere
Requirements for joining
There are in fact no requirements for joining the team. You don't need to be an expert on packaging and programming. In fact, this is one of the best ways to help Ubuntu if you can't program / package at all. All you need is a lot of love for Ubuntu.
You might want to create a [https://launchpad.net Launchpad] account for yourself before you start triaging bugs. Then just join in the [https://launchpad.net/people/bugsquad BugSquad] page.
How bugs are tracked
We use [http://launchpad.net/malone Malone] for tracking/triaging bugs. All Ubuntu related bug activity happens there.
