Introduction

The Ubuntu Forums Beginners Team was created to to help new users have the best experience possible with Ubuntu. We primarily help on the Absolute Beginner Talk area of the Ubuntu Forums. You can navigate our wiki area using the header section at the top of this page. Feel free to poke around by reading our Mission Statement, checking out what our Focus Groups are up to, and learning about our team Structure.

If you are interested in contributing to the Beginners Team, see the Padawan Focus Group page. There you will find information on getting involved, finding us on IRC, and meeting the team.

Focus Groups

Besides helping on the forums, many members of the team contribute to the community in other ways. For this, Focus Groups allow team members to direct their efforts in different areas of Ubuntu community. We also use Focus Groups to help keep the team organized and running smoothly.

Title	IRC Channel	Brief Description
Focus Groups	-	Outline of the Focus Groups and their members. Add yourself to those that you wish to contribute to.
Development	##beginners-dev	FOSS Programming and software development.
Education/Mentoring	#ubuntu-learning ##beginners-classroom	Educate team members on different topics of your choosing.
IRC	##beginners-help	Provide help for Ubuntu users on IRC.
Launchpad	##beginners-launchpad	Help users on Launchpad by doing Answers and contributing to bug reports.
Padawan	-	Introduce prospective members to the team and help them get oriented with the BT.
Security	-	Help users become more aware of computer security, even in linux!
Stalking	-	BT quality control - ensure that team members haven't lost their touch.
Wiki	-	Contribute to the community wiki and other documentation.
