Process

Ubuntu Read the introduction on the BeginnersTeam homepage and look over the numerous subsections of the wiki listed in the header to ensure this is the right team for you. Decide which Focus Group you want to join.

Ubuntu If you do not already have one, make a wiki page.

Ubuntu Sign up to the Mailing List

Ubuntu Send an Email to the ML introducing yourself and which Focus Group you wish to work with. Be sure to include the names of any teams in the Ubuntu community you have worked with, along with how long you have been working with them. Below is an example;

Subject: Intro: $NAME
To: ubuntu-beginners@lists.ubuntu.com

Hello Beginners Team,

My name is $NAME, and i've been working in the community for $LENGTH with the $TEAM, and it is my intention to join the Ubuntu Beginners Team. I believe that I can help with the $FOCUS_GROUP, and some prior examples of my work related to this team can be found here[n].

Ubuntu provide at least one recommendation from someone outside BT who can attest to the quality of your contribution. Something like:

I've worked with $CANDIDATE for the past $LENGTH on the $TEAM. He has been doing some terrific work on $STUFF. I can support the quality of his work, and believe $CANDIDATE is here to stay.
