Ubuntu Contributions

Most of my Ubuntu work centres around universe, where I contribute as part of the ["MOTU"] team. The subteams that I am in are the [:MOTUMono:Mono team] and [:MOTUZopePlone:Zope/Plone team]. For both of these teams, I am part of the corresponding Debian team.

In my MOTU work, I have recently been actively reviewing packages & mentoring new maintainers. As well as this, I have been involved in the C++ & Python transitions, as well as other package maintenance.

I have a few packages in universe that are imported from Debian - DotGNU Portable.NET & GNU Enterprise

I have recently finished a computer science degree & graduate diploma at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand, and am now working as a programmer. In February 2005, I became a Debian developer ([http://qa.debian.org/[email protected] packages ])

I'm currently working on SELinux integration (deferred BreezyGoal)

  • libselinux1 needs to go into base
  • Various packages such as sysvinit, pam, coreutils need patched (testing these now)
  • I am working on some code for installing policy in the selinux-policy-default package

I am hoping to see Ubuntu be seen as a viable server platform, and I believe that SELinux can play a part in making secure-by-default systems
