Image Status

• omap - working kernel for omap3, omap4 binary missing yet (TI just offered ubuntu based tree to us)
• preinstalled image support for ARM is ongoing, and preparing to be reviewed and merged
• work on jasper (preinstalled image first boot tool), continues.

RC Bugs

Bugs with fix committed/released:

• 588805:no udebs for omap flavour in maverick

Bugs in SRU state:

• 509006:[dove] hibernation failed to resume (kernel in -proposed was verified in time but was superseded by security upload before moving to -updates)

• 559065:ifconfig eth0 down will cause system hang after fec.c driver update (kernel in -proposed was verified in time but was superseded by security upload before moving to -updates)

• 571192:suspend/resume is currently broken on imx51

Bugs targeted for Alpha2:

• 592045:MIR for omap3 and 4 bootloaders

• 586386:omap3 kernel should hand over all comdline args to the init environment

• 589624:omap3 flavour does not work on beagle XM board

Blueprints - for Alpha2

Planned changes for Alpha2

• MIRs for x-loader and u-boot variants for omap3 and 4
• MIR for jasper (image repartitioning/resizing tool for first-boot on preinstalled images not filed yet, needs code testing and optimization)

Planned *intrusive* changes for Alpha2

• activation of livecd-rootfs changes
• debian-cd merge for preinstalled images
  • at best guess, looking for an initial merge onto antimony of the debian-cd, and ubuntu-cdimage scripts by the end next week, or the beginning of the week after that.
  • preinstalled images will be bzip2 compressed by default, and use a filename of $(CODENAME)-preinst-$(PROJECT)-$(FULLARCH).img.bz2.
    • Compression will be configurable on/off for images, with it defaulting it to on for preinstalled images due to the size.
